MASTER SHAUNT BEJANIAN

Having been raised in a supportive family with a modest background, Master Shaunt appreciates everything life has to offer. While getting his degree in electrical engineering at Boston’s Northeastern University, he was introduced to Karate. His extraordinary passion and discipline led him to a world championship and his own martial arts school where he coached and developed other champions and received a congressional citation for his participation in the US world championship team.

Master Shaunt has a Masters Degree in Quality Assurance and has pursued his Ph.D. in child psychology. He’s been teaching for over 20 years and believes that Martial Arts is very beneficial for children’s development in all areas of life (mental, physical, spiritual and emotional).

Master Shaunt believes humility is the key to success and believes all their students possess this quality. He is also thankful for his students efforts, dedication and loyalty to the school and to the martial arts and loves and appreciates each and every one of them and they all have his blessings to be successful in life”.

Master Shaunt is no stranger to the film making process. He is a veteran of more than twenty independent action/drama features including the well received suspenseful crime drama “Flipping” with Keith David and the futuristic thriller “Centurian Force” with John Savage and Circuit II with Lorenzo Lamas. Master Shaunt also starred in “Hindsight” a feature film he wrote, directed, produced, cast and executive produced.

Master Shaunt started acting by taking summer classes at Harvard University and worked in local cable television and commercials before moving to Los Angeles to further his acting career in 1990. Master Shaunt honed his craft both in theater and film by intense study and making discoveries which brought him to realize, as a former Tae Kwon Do champion, the similarities between the two arts. The transformation from the Martial Arts to Acting was a natural metamorphosis since both arts require spiritual awareness, mental concentration, physical and emotional expression. He is a lifetime member of the Actors’ Studio and has worked in several prestigious theater presentations including the leads in “A view from the bridge” by Arthur Miller at Palisades theater, “Detective Story” at the Strasberg Institute (Marilyn Monroe Theater)  and the West Coast premiere of William Saroyan’s critically acclaimed “My heart’s in the Heartlands”.  His latest and proudest endeavor has been  “After Freedom”, a feature film due out in summer of 2004.

Master Shaunt lives in Glendale with his wife Vera, their eight-year-old son Vrej (Mike) and their two-year-old daughter Melody. He has a strong commitment to family and community and believes one should do as much good as possible in one’s lifetime and he practices the virtues of the unstoppable human spirit.
